Sonador AI

Advanced tools to manage, view, and edit medical imaging data.

TL;DR

This project demonstrates my ability to address design challenges on a complex microservices based platform, and implement innovative solutions that optimize workflow efficiency and user satisfaction.

/ The Challenge

Empower users with streamlined workflows, and intuitive decision-making tools.

The OHIF study list interface currently lacks efficient search, intuitive data previews, and collaborative tools, impacting user satisfaction and workflow efficiency for researchers and radiologists.

Primary Pain Points:

  • Studies are hard to find
  • Data is buried in viewer
  • Data is stuck in silo
  • Can’t collaborate
  • No clinical or research workflows

/ Pain 1:

Studies are hard to find

Solutions:

Through user interviews and industry research I identified and redesigned primary study list interface and added:

  • Global search
  • Custom filters for and available DICOM tags
  • Column display customization

Solutions:

We added an expandable drawer to the rows. In the drawer is included:

  • Thumbnail previews of series in the study
  • Customizable view of DICOM data display in series

/ Pain 3:

Data is stuck in silo

Solutions:

We added features that allow users to:

  • Share data with both internal and external users.
  • Download studies and series.
  • Share and download for an individual study or series as well as in bulk.

/ Pain 4:

Can’t collaborate

Solutions:

Adding internal collaborating tools via series level comments in the study list

/ Pain 5:

No clinical or research workflows

Solutions:

Create a dedicated section with a queue of studies that need review where users can:

  • Change status for studies both on an individual bases and in bulk
  • Open studies in a worklist viewer designed to streamline processing of studies

Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned

To address the motivational aspect of health and wellness, I led the team in designing charts and progress-tracking features. Collaborating closely with UX/UI designers and data visualization experts, we created intuitive charts that allowed users to track their progress over time. Recognizing the value of visual representation, I championed the implementation of a feature enabling users to upload and manage progress photos. This approach not only catered to user needs by enhancing motivation but also aligned with Truvy’s business objective of fostering a supportive community and promoting the holistic journey toward a healthy lifestyle.
